New Year’s Resolutions…Dive into 2026
Take up something new if you are a beginner, or as an intermediate extend your skills with new approaches, new ideas. Join others who want to take the same path.
We start the year with Artdrawpaint workshops taught by two of our talented, visiting tutors. If you haven’t tried a workshop with Michael Weller, or Sam Clayden, I strongly advise you to give them a go. Both tutors have a busy online set of courses, tutoring students all over the world. A real life, face-to-face workshop is something of a rarity.
New Year’s resolutions are about what you want to do. Grab the opportunity.

Taking a Long View, Still Life ’26 Painting Strategies with Kate Measham.

These Still Life workshops are designed to shake things up a bit. We ALL get set in our ways.
You will be encouraged to take risks, to play, and to enjoy the process rather than focusing on an answer. Doing a still life is not an easy way out; we see it as a vehicle to explore composition, and why we paint and draw. It is just the beginning.

Self Portrait in Oils with Sam Clayden
From Rembrandt to Van Gogh, artists throughout history have confronted their own image to create some of the most striking works of art. Today, we snap a selfie with our phones, capture a moment but probably not the person. In this two-day course, we will do the same as Rembrandt and others, take time to think about the image.

Working directly from the mirror, Sam will guide students in the composition and execution of their self-portrait. From initial sketches to finishing touches, Sam will demonstrate techniques, discuss historical examples and ideas and provide one-on-one feedback, helping students to find their artistic voice.
