Discover a group of artists and get your hands dirty.
There are many groups, co-operatives, and creative studios across the world. Local, national and international options can offer advice, courses, competitions, a place to work or a place to show your work. They are a way to socialise with like-minded people, to learn new skills, or maybe offer access to equipment.

If you run a group you think would be of interest to your local community, or beyond, please drop me a line and tell me about it. I am interested in makers and suppliers – Google is great but I love word of mouth!
Below are a couple of examples you might find interesting. I have visited both.
The courses on offer at Wessex Sculptors are available on their website. They might not be easy to find but persevere – they look very interesting.
Wessex Sculptors
Are you interested in joining a self-motivated, supportive group of like-minded artists working in 3 dimensions? Whether you want to pursue your ideas as an experienced sculptor or are completely new to sculpture and just want to have a go, Wessex Sculptors has something for you.
Wessex Sculptors are a group of sculptors of all levels of experience based in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. We have use of a well-equipped studio, an outdoor working space and help and support from experienced sculptor, John Souter. Members work in a wide variety of methods and materials from modelling in clay, plaster, wire and ciment fondu to wood and stone carving and casting in resins. As a registered charity, our aim is to share our love of sculptural form and collective expertise in providing workshops and working within our local community.
Whether you are interested in membership, in taking part in workshops or are a member of a school or organisation that could benefit from our help and expertise, please find out more using the details below.

Made in the Pewsey Vale
This is a new artist collective based in Pewsey. Their inaugural exhibition for their community of artists is later this month. If you get a chance come along to the mixed autumn exhibition. I will post more information as the group evolves.

Casa Rosa, Andalucia, Spain
The courses at Casa Rosa are run jointly by Rosie Tatham and Kate Measham.
Going on a painting holiday/retreat is an intense way to join a creative group with all the positives that involves.
Take a look at the Casa Rosa website for more info or look at the present run of retreats under the Spain Tab on Artdrawpaint.
