An Introduction to Drawing: Measured, Intuitive, Expressive

Line, Shape, Colour

Kate Measham’s upcoming exhibition at the Made in the Pewsey Vale Gallery starts in December, featuring lino prints, Christmas cards, and paintings, with an online catalogue available for those unable to attend. Future workshops in 2025 will explore landscape and portrait painting in Andalucia. Additionally, various painting courses will begin in January, focusing on new or fresh starts and challenging work.

Oil Painting Course, Autumn 2024

This oil painting course, led by Kate Measham, offers a supportive environment for beginners or those with some experience. Over three months, students will partake in two-day workshops each month, focusing on exercises to enhance oil painting skills. The course emphasizes experimentation, enjoyment, and the development of good working practices. Students are encouraged to bring specific materials for the course. The aim is to build confidence and remind participants of the joy in painting with oils.

Where Five Rivers Meet

The Where Five Rivers Meet workshop, led by artist Sam Clayden, will take place in Salisbury on August 14-16, 2024. Participants will explore the city and its surrounding water meadows, creating sketches, tonal and color studies, and working towards a final piece. Emphasizing drawing and oil painting, the workshop aims to mirror John Constable’s approach. Sam Clayden’s teaching style revolves around capturing light, atmosphere, and nature.
