Below is a new season of courses at Artdrawpaint. There are workshops for beginners, the rusty, and for those keen to learn more in a masterclasses. Tangiers will be suitable for any ability. Most courses will be at the Mottisfont Village Hall, with Drawing at the Glasshouse and Exploring Tangiers quite obviously elsewhere.
Venues for courses
Mottisfont Village Hall is a fantastic rural venue in a victorian school house near the NT property, Mottisfont Abbey. We have easels, tables, boards and a big kitchen with all mod cons.
The Glasshouse in Houghton is attached to Houghton Lodge and run by the Wilds group. Join the welcoming drawing workshops, perfect for all skill levels from beginners to experienced artists. Learn new techniques and create beautiful artwork in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
In Tangiers we’ll be based at Dar Sinclair. It is a stunning, newly renovated private villa located in the exclusive mountain area of Tangiers.The villa overlooks sweeping views of the Bay of Tangiers. This will be our creative home. It will be calm, luxurious, and nurturing; the perfect environment to slow down, observe, and get into our art.

Oil Painting for Beginners, October 2026
This two day workshop with Kate Measham is a clear and simple beginners’ oil painting course. You do not need a huge amount of complicated equipment (materials are provided), just a willingness to have a go. If you are new to oil painting, this is the course for you. This is the first step towards an engaging, thoughtful, enduring, life long pleasure.
Painting for Beginners, the Next Step, 2026 (November)
Try a two day workshop with Kate Measham to flex your new painting skills. This simple approach to painting a picture with oils will help you set up a still life by focusing on composition, making drawings, creating oil sketches, and finally, painting a picture.
Inspired by William Scott, Line, Shape and Colour – with Michael Weller (November)
William Scott, CBE, RA was an abstract painter who drew from the things in his life: frying pans, pears, boats, and the human figure. Michael Wellerr refers to William Scott’s mid to later work as an inspiration for his work. Scott was influenced by Rothko and Bonnard. He was also inspired by Cezanne’s tilting table for still lifes. Line, shape, and colour are the driving influences uniting these artists.
This two day weekend workshop will focus on painting things on a tabletop. You will pare things down a bit, just lines and colours and see what happens.
Exploring Tangiers with a Sketchbook, with Kate Measham (Jan 2027)

Supermarket Flowers with Sarah Spackman, Feb 2027

In this two-day workshop, we ask you to choose a bunch of supermarket flowers and your favourite vase. Learn how to see the beauty in a bunch.
