- Students can work in whatever media they wish. However, the first class will be using charcoal and ink.

At first glance Poussin may be thought of as old fashioned, with nothing to offer the contemporary artist. This would be a mistake. Cy Twombly, Francis Bacon, Picasso, and Cezanne, giants among painters, make reference to the Poussin’s influence.
These four afternoons is a longer approach to ‘On the Shoulders of Giants. There is much to explore.
The course is not about how to use individual materials; it is about how to find new ideas and approaches. This is space to strive towards innovation in your own work.
