Discover a more abstract approach to botanical drawing with Elizabeth Hammond. This course will look at capturing the movement and energy of the plant life. You will explore the intricacies of specimens through micro to macro scale works on paper, discover the joy of gestural drawing and learn about evoking the sense of the plants and flowers. This workshop visually investigates these exciting elements of nature in the perfect setting of the Longstock Gardens Cafe and Nursery, an ideal learning environment for these explorations.

This workshop, with experienced tutor and artist Elizabeth Hammond, will develop your drawing skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Together you will work towards building a variety of skills, not only techniques with materials, but also how to objectively view your work, discovering the moments of brilliance that every drawing contains. Elizabeth will guide you towards ‘finished’ works as well as enjoying drawing as a process.
