What to expect on this Colour and Composition course

This will be a 2 day workshop painting with oils.

The first day, we will have a discussion around the nature of still life and look at work by other artists. Students will then build their own simple still life set ups from materials provided. They will develop a series of studies to address drawing, composition, tonal and colour relationships separately before the final painting. These studies will be in charcoal, conte and oil paint. These preparatory explorations will enable the students to approach their paintings with greater understanding and confidence.

The second day, will be a full day painting the still life, with oils.

All abilities are welcome but some experience of working with oil paint would be preferable.
