Since graduating from Winchester School of Art, then Edinburgh College of Art in 1994, Samantha Barnes has been a practising artist. She opened her own gallery in Clapham Common in 2000. Sam is well versed in making, exhibiting and selling her own work. She is also highly accomplished in working with other artists and encouraging talent in others.

Sam’s workshop with HAMPSHIRE ART studio marks a ​first-return​ to teaching having taken recent years out. She has used the time to concentrate on producing her landscape, seascape paintings that are now selling via galleries nationally.

Sam also has an established business which began in 2016 painting contemporary portraits of dogs. Known as, her dog paintings have been commissioned internationally. They hang in New York, Melbourne and many homes up and down the UK.
