- INQUISITIVE PERSON’S GUIDE TO ART
If you are a beginner when it comes to oil painting, these are the classes for you. Join us at Hampshire Art studio to learn the basics on this Introduction to Oil Painting course.
What to expect on this four day Introduction to Oil Painting course

This is an intensive four day course for beginners as an introduction to the basics of oil painting. Kate will use Autumn’s fruits and vegetables as a reference (think apples and pears, rose hips and autumn leaves).
Your introduction to painting with oils starts with various exercises using charcoal. Gradually over the four classes you will look at mixing paints, tone, different sorts of paint application and learning about the materials, tools and other equipment needed. You will start in the most simple way possible and surprise yourself after four days by how much you are able to paint with a few oil paints.
It is a very busy few days.
Once you have completed this intensive course Hampshire Art studio can advise what other courses would be appropriate for you.
