With Elizabeth Hammond and Kate Measham
We think of drawing as the starting point, and the core of all that we do here at Hampshire Art studio.
Nigel Babb will guide you through the essential steps of drawing – looking at shape, tone, markmaking, perspective, materials and how to make them work for you.
If you are starting afresh, taking up art after a long break or simply thinking of giving it a go for fun this is an excellent place to start.

What to expect on the Beginners Drawing Course
Regularly we hear people say, ‘I haven’t drawn since school’, ‘I can’t draw’, ‘I had to give up art and do physics’… this is your moment to move beyond these self imposed barriers. Drawing is a skill that can be taught, practised and enjoyed.
The more you draw, the closer you look at the world around you and the more you see.
Each week will the course will build on your confidence and skills. Step by step during the classes you will consolidate your skills. Each week you will be sent away with (optional) homework. As with most things, the more more you practise the better you will become. A little bit of regular drawing will give you confidence to have a go at ANYTHING.
