As he draws, Nick will describe the process and answer questions from the audience. Not only will you know the thoughts and methods of the artist we should also hear from the model.
Nick Bashall is a renowned war artist and portrait painter whose subjects have included members of the Royal Family, Military and Business leaders.
When not painting portraits for posterity Nick does performance painting for festival goers at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and other events. Our model isn’t Kylie for this evening (I can’t think why we didn’t ask her). There will be fewer costume changes, but it will be just as exciting and interesting in every other way.
Nick will be teaching a 2 ½ day self-portrait course at the Studio, Bransbury in mid November. For more information see the website below.
I happened across this exhibition at The Gallery, Winchester Discovery Centre.
How loudly can I shout about it?
The winners of last years BP Portrait Award, plus a large number of other portraits are in the Gallery at the library (discovery centre) in Winchester. The competition is the most prestigious portrait competition in the world. There are portraits from all over the globe.
