Have a look at Thursdays at the Yurt – packed full of art classes.
Every other Thursday there are two classes, sometimes three.
In the morning there is Sketch and Scones – all about the cornerstone of all visual art, DRAWING.
For the summer PAINT will be run at the same time as Sketch and Scones
Also in the mornings there is a new class, PAINT. Instead of looking at how to use various different media this class will look at what to do with your painting skills… what are you going to paint, how are you going to paint it, what things work for you and how to keep yourself and your skills moving forward.
In June there is LIFE DRAWING in the evening
These should make Thursdays interesting, fun and exciting. I have made the classes cheap to encourage you all to have a go. Tell your friends.
If you are interested contact me to reserve a place.

Sewing and knitting have ‘stitch and bitch’… this is the drawing version, without the niceness. It will become a regular fixture on Thursdays later in the year
This is a class about drawing. It isn’t going to be called a ‘Beginners Guide to Drawing’ because nobody is really a beginner.
Drawing is a skill; it requires practise, guidance and encouragement, adventure and more practise. In this class you will be taught about materials, different techniques and, very importantly, you will learn how to look.
This is a class that is appropriate for all abilities.
You may not have picked up a pencil for a long time, or you might attend a regular, weekly class. The idea of this class, and others that will follow, is to extend yourself, try something new, revisit something old and to remind yourself that drawing is exciting.
